The Yarımca Filling Facility is established next to the Izmit İpraş Refinery, LPG filling and distribution begins. The foundations of the dealer organization are laid.
1963
Airing of the first Aygaz advertising campaign: “40 TL in cash, 40 TL in installments”. Gazsan’s trade name is changed to Aygaz A.Ş.
1965
First publicity and promotion campaign: French fries are cooked using an Aygaz cylinder on a delivery truck and distributed to the public.
1967
Ambarlı Filling Facility is established. M/T Aygaz, Turkey's first LPG vessel, leaves port for the first time.
1970
Aliağa Filling Facility is established, bringing the total number of facilities to five. Chemical trade commences.
1976
All Aygaz management units are consolidated at the new headquarters in Zincirlikuyu, Istanbul.
1982
The “Blue Seal Lid” is introduced as a symbol of safety for Aygaz cylinders.
1984
First Aygaz mobile heater is produced.
1985
Transit LPG purchase and sales agreement is signed with Iraqi state oil company SOMO. The Diyarbakır Filling Facility is established to serve the Southeastern Anatolia Region.
1988
Modernization of Aygaz dealers begins in order to better serve customers.
1989
Aygaz designs the “Gavdem Machine”, the first LPG equipment to change valves without releasing gas.
1993
12 kg residential cylinders and 24 kg commercial cylinders are put on the market. The “Aygaz jingle” is played from urban delivery trucks, a first for the market. The Aygaz Central Energy System for residential housing is launched Automation Integrated Safety Systems put into operation. Aygaz acquires 100% of Mogaz A.Ş.
1995
The Aygaz Call Center launched to provide information to consumers about Aygaz products and services. The Occupational Health and Safety System (IGIS) launched. Computerized Subscriber Code System implemented at dealerships
1996
Guaranteed Seal Cap introduced for cylinder gas.
1997
The Aygaz 24 service and Automatic Cylinder Ordering System launched.
1998
Aygaz revamps its corporate image and logos. New company logo is introduced to the public using the first zeppelin in Turkey. Aygaz enters the auto gas market. Framework agreement signed with Opet. New social responsibility campaign: “Aygaz Warns About Accidents at Home”. Aygaz blazes a trail in the sector by obtaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate.
1999
Aygaz becomes the first LPG company to obtain ISO 9002 Certification. The Aygaz introduces the Electronic Gas Control Detector in Turkey for the first time. The Aygaz Patio Heater is introduced to the market. The Aygaz industrial propane cylinder sparks initiates the propane revolution in industry.
2000
Aygaz receives an award for the Most Successful LPG Company in the Petroleum Turkey '99 Achievement Awards.
2001
Aygaz A.Ş. and Gaz Aletleri A.Ş. (Gazal) merge under the Aygaz brand; all operations from production to sales are unified in a single organization. Turkish customers are introduced to Turkey's first auto gas brand designed specifically for automobiles, OTOAYGAZ LPG1, which meets European standards.
2002
The “Cautious Child - Creating Awareness Against Accidents” campaign launched.
2003
Reinforcing customer satisfaction with after-sales services, Aygaz changes the “Aygaz Call Center” number from 0800 211 40 70 to 444 4 999. The Aygaz Board Meeting of April 9, 2003 evaluates Southeastern Europe’s constantly evolving fuel and auto gas market, deciding to enter the Bulgarian fuel and auto gas market in partnership with OPET, leading to the establishment of Opet/Aygaz Bulgaria in June. Aygaz receives the “Golden Quality Award for Customer Friendliness” with the nationwide Cautious Child campaign.
2004
Aygaz Euro LPG is introduced to the market.
2005
The Yarımca Filling Facility obtains the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety System Certificate.
2006
The Turkey Customer Satisfaction Index, conducted by Kal-Der (Quality Association of Turkey), ranks Aygaz as number one for four consecutive quarters.
2007
For the first time in Turkey, Aygaz offers customers the option of purchasing cylinders at the door with credit card or loyalty points. A special cylinder is produced for forklifts, which are used extensively in factories and industrial facilities. Renovations are carried out on 81 community health clinics in 81 provinces as part of the “Moonlight: The Light of Health from Aygaz” Project. Aygaz implements the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System across 12 plants. Aygaz disseminates its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, previously implemented at the Head Office and Yarımca Filling Facility, to 11 facilities.
2008
Aygaz ranks third in the Management category at the EU Environment Awards. According to a report by Sabancı University and Standard & Poors, Aygaz ranks among the top five companies in Turkey for financial transparency. According to GfK Turkey's “Best Brands” study, Aygaz was rated the fourth best brand in Turkey and the best brand in the LPG sector.
2009
Aygaz Euro LPG+, Turkey's first auto gas with additives, is introduced.
2010
Aygaz receives a Corporate Governance Rating Score of 8.46. Aygaz ranks first in ‘Performance Management’ in the “2010 Human Management Awards” organized by the Turkey Personnel Management Association of Turkey (PERYÖN).
2011
Aygaz celebrates its 50th anniversary. A book is published, relating Aygaz’s story from the early 1960s up until today. Aygaz offers another first for its customers with the “small sleeved cylinders”. Customer complaint handling process is developed into a systematic and improvable structure through the ISO 10002 Customer Complaints Management System Certification. Aygaz develops a systematic structure to quantify, monitor, report, verify and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Management Systems.
2012
The Aygaz corporate governance rating score is raised from 8.50 to 8.96, the third-highest corporate governance rating score in Turkey. Aygaz also takes its place among the first group with the best scores in the World Corporate Governance Index, which includes 150. The auto gas ad campaign using the slogan “Anyone Who Wants Performance Comes to Aygaz” receives the Crystal Apple in the 24th Crystal Apple Turkey Advertising Awards. With small cylinder products that meet the highest customer expectations used in one of every two houses in Turkey, Aygaz offers customers a new look with a blue sleeve on their 2 kg LPG cylinders. Aygaz obtains ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification.
2013
Aygaz receives Customer Friendly Company and Customer Friendly Brand certifications from the Turkish Standards Institution, a first in Turkey. The Aygaz Annual Report receives the Bronze Stevie at the International Business Awards. Aygaz receives the Gold Medal at the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP) 2012 Annual Report Vision Awards in the worldwide “Energy-Oil, Gas & Consumable Fuels” category. Aygaz receives two Crystal, one Silver and one Bronze Apple in the Crystal Apple Awards.
2014
In the Turkey Customer Satisfaction Index (TMME) compiled by KalDer and KA Research for the first quarter of 2014, Aygaz has been ranked number one for the fifth time. The Aygaz corporate governance rating score was raised from 9.27 to 9.29.
2015
Increasing its Corporate Governance Score every year since 2009 when it began to be rated, Aygaz further raised its rating in 2015 from 9.29 to 9.36. The Turkish Patent Institute’s Board of Intellectual Property Rights granted the First Invention Award of the Year to Aygaz’s Cylinder Monitoring System due to the improvements it made in process efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Cylinder Transportation Vehicle received the Second Invention Award based on its improved occupational health and safety and increased process efficiency. For the first time since its establishment, Aygaz sales volume exceeded two million tons.
2016
Aygaz signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The brainstorming platform Aythink was opened to Aygaz's employees. In the “Voice of Customer-Turkey” (TMS) research that was conducted with the partnership of KalDer (Quality Association of Turkey) and Ipsos, Aygaz was selected as the brand with highest customer loyalty. Aygaz was the first company to publish “Domestic Violence Policy at the Workplace” and joined the “Business World against Domestic Violence Platform” which was established by Sabancı University Corporate Governance Forum and TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association).
